It’s time for January’s Ipsy Review! I’ve been subscribed to Ipsy for probably close to 10 years now.. I started out with the GlamBag subscription where you receive 5-6 sample sized beauty items in a cute monthly themed bag. I absolutely loved it when I was in high school! I got to try out so many new products without my Mom having to spend hundred of dollars every month (I was veryyyyy into the Beauty YouTubers at the time).

Now that I’m older, I still have the same love for beauty products and I personally can’t afford to spend so much money on products especially if I don’t know if I will love them! I upgraded to the “BoxyCharm” subscription plan which is one tier above the “GlamBag” subscription plan. The “BoxyCharm” plan costs $30/mo + tax and shipping/handling, but you actually receive full-sized products! You can actually try out the product fully and decide if you want to actually purchase it, plus I get to pick 3 out of the 5 products each month (the other 2 are a mystery). Now that you know about Ipsy, let’s see what I got in my box for January 2024!

GOLDFADEN MD Doctor’s Scrub

The GOLDFADEN MD Doctor’s Scrub retails for $70! It features ruby crystals to help polish away dead skin and is supposed to leave your skin feeling brighter and tighter without being overly drying. I love a good scrub and was so excited to try this, but the scrub is way too rough on my skin. I don’t have sensitive skin, but this scrub felt so harsh on my skin and left my skin extremely red and irritated. After a few minutes after my face dried, my skin was tight and parts of my face were flaking. My skin did feel so much softer and smoother, but probably because it literally removed layers of my skin. For $70, I don’t think this is worth the purchase.

TOPICALS Slather Exfoliating Body Serum

TOPICALS Slather Exfoliating Body Serum retails for $30. First of all, let’s say that this packaging is super cute and I’m a sucker for cute packaging. It has active ingredients like retinol, lactic acid, and squalane to help exfoliate skin and unclog pores. I had a few rough patches on my arms and used this all over. After 2 weeks of using this twice a week, I noticed an improvement of the rough patches on my arms – the patches were smaller and my skin felt smoother and softer. This smells like sunscreen and has a thin, runny lotion consistency. I’m going to continue using this and see if I can tell further improvements of my rough patches.

REALHER Prebiotic Setting Spray

REALHER Prebiotic Setting Spray retails for $35. I really like this setting spray! It doesn’t have a strong smell, but it does have a semi-aggressive sprayer. I hold it an arm’s length away from my face and it helps the sprayer be less aggressive. I noticed that this makes my face look more hydrated and helps my makeup look more like skin. I noticed that this does help with the longevity of my makeup, but it’s nothing absolutely crazy. Even though I like this setting spray and will use all of, I don’t think that I will purchase since there are more affordable options that do the same thing.

FEEL BEAUTY Squalane Facial Oil

This FEEL BEAUTY Squalane Facial Oil retails for $36. This has tons of great ingredients like squalane, avocado oil, grapeseed oil, rosehip oil, French plum seed oil, and Vitamin C. I’ve been using a small amount of this every night and I absolutely love it! I am always worried about using oils on my oily/combination skin, but my skin loved this! I wake up with softer, smoother, and more hydrated skin. I feel like this balances my skin and helps reduce some of the redness. I’m going to go through this entire bottle and see how I feel about purchasing it. I’ll update!

LYS BEAUTY Lash Confidence Mascara

The LYS BEAUTY Lash Confidence Mascara retails for $19. I love the unique packaging and I think that it’s very cute. I usually don’t like mascara wands like this, but I like this mascara! As it claims, it really lengthens, curls, and adds volume to my lashes. There is a lot of product buildup on the mascara wand so I did have to scrape some off the product onto the top of the tube. If I didn’t scrape off the product, it would end up very clumpy very fast so be careful! I think that this is worth a try if you’re in the market for a new mascara.

What did you think of this month’s IPSY? Considering that I picked 3/5 products myself and catered it towards skincare, I think that this was a great box with a variety of new products to try! I would give this month’s box 4/5 stars! I think that it’s worth $30, what you think?
